Right or Wrong? What Will You Choose?

I have well and truly been put on the spot!  And this is not the usual blog post from Aneis de Vida, but one that I feel needs to be read and perhaps inspire others to stand in the light instead of hiding behind the bush. Perhaps I should also mention that as a person, I have never shied away from what I believe in nor have I ever neglected to stand up for what I...

In the Dead of the Night

In the Dead of the Night Waking to the sound of restless dogs and eventually the one opening the bedroom door, my getting up and following without much thought.  Just thinking of going to see why the monkeys are up so early because of the strange noises that I am hearing. Coming down the stairs to a window that is wide open and my first thought being ‘’how did the cat manage that and where in heavens...

Do You Think it is as easy as Black and White?

I was asked today, "Why didn't she just leave?  Run for help?" A policeman the other day asked me to ask a child to contact the police to ask them to help her get away from her abuser. He seemed so surprised when I told him she doesn't know she needs help! Domestic violence, child abuse - these are complicated circumstances.  Many people think it's the physical violence that's the worst - but it isn't. It's the...

Encountering the Sacred

Encountering the Sacred   Written in Muscat, the Sultanate of Oman:   I experienced the sacred today in the form of a battered up cat that I found under a truck as I was driving out of the car park at work.  He was finished, lying in his own urine, emaciated, and covered with flies and ants, maggots on his face. But he was still breathing. I knew that this was my task, to love him for the last hours...

ABUSE

Abuse It disgusts me to my very core.  No matter whether taken out on human or animal, physical or verbal, abuse is disturbing, violating and barbaric. Have we as humans truly evolved I question myself?  In each and every person walking this planet is a trigger mechanism that can cause a violent reaction.  It is just to know what the trigger point is.  I find it extremely interesting that we have come up with these wonderful excuses...

Poaching or Harvesting?

Poaching or Harvesting? For many the terminology brings forth images of rhino and elephants having their horns and tusks hacked off, and yes a despicable industry of note. Do you also know of the poaching of human parts taking place in this world?  Both the acts against humans and animals is completely detestable and are very closely linked with syndicates across the globe. However it is not only that these two are linked but it goes deeper it...

The Creator

The Creator Desond Tutu said we all worship the same creator. I tend to agree with the man.  If for one moment everyone can just take a deep breath before uttering some form of denial - and here I am referring to those of you who hold with one specific religious belief system be that Christianity, Islam, Hindu, Judaism etc. I have on a few occasions said that at the end of the day we all originate from...

The Molecule of the Subconscious

The Molecule of the Subconscious What is being referred to here?  A feeling of ‘’knowing’’ before knowing.  Sounding strange?  It is actually not so strange at all.  Here is an example, you are in the process of doing something – does not matter whether on a personal level or a professional one.  And you have this feeling and perhaps even a word or two that jump into your head saying no it’s somehow not true,...

A Continuous Cycle of Events

A Continuous Cycle of Events The continuous cycle of negative energy which we surround ourselves with on a daily basis is something which we need to take stock of and consider how it is affecting us and our very thoughts. As I live in South Africa, it is astounding really, how very few feel good, positive news clips appear be that on television or social media, and I am sure that anyone across the globe at some...

Destructive Behaviour

Destructive Behaviour This very morning I read a post dealing with the death of a vervet monkey.  It was not due to old age or lack of food and water.  This sentient being died due to poisoning.  Can you imagine the pain and suffering the body of this soul had to endure?  There are countless others who suffer the same cruelty at the hand of man. When are YOU going to take on board that no matter...
